La Romana is a small municipality in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is located inland on the Costa Blanca, about 40 kilometers northwest of Alicante. La Romana has a long history dating back to Roman times. The town's name alludes to these Roman roots. Over the centuries, the village developed into an agricultural community.
